My Easter Sunday Fun

He has risen! 🙏🏼

How was your Easter Sunday? Mine was wonderful! Seth’s 15 year old cousin was visiting from Oregon for the weekend, so we had an extra guest joining us for the festivities! 🐰🌷🌸🌼🙏🏼

We started the day by attending Mosaic Church in Hollywood. It was so packed that we had to sit in the “Overflow Tent” with our own band and screens to stream the service from inside the church! Pastor Irwin is seriously amazing with his messages and delivery, and Mosaic is actually world famous and has podcasts, live streams, and its own christian band on tour. Its the real deal! I would highly encourage downloading the Mosaic App and become a part of the community from wherever you are in the world. They create a Home for a city full of millions of transplants who have moved here with little connection to the community, myself included. Its been so comforting to know that even though I came to this city alone, I’ve found a place to feel like I belong. 💒

Anyway, the sermon was aimed to speak to the masses of why Easter is so important. I didn’t come from a super religious family, while I was taught the basics and followed the 10 commandments, I only knew the surface level of whats in the bible and why it applies to me. So every time I attend church is a new lesson and new beginning. After a lovely sermon, we snapped an obligatory Easter Selfie and walked home (the church is a block away from my apartment!!)

We then went to The Griddle Cafe on Sunset Blvd. If you ever visit LA, you MUST go here. It’s a southern inspired breakfast/brunch joint that is reserved for your biggest cheat day yet. Their pancakes are literally 1 FOOT in diameter. And they aren’t just any pancakes, they are a sweet tooth’s dream.

For example, feast your eyes on this masterpiece:

“You don’t need courage for these butterscotch, caramel, and walnut-filled originals. Topped with whipped cream and powdered sugar. (There’s no place like The Griddle!)”

Do you SEE that pancake??!?! Named the “Yellow Brick Road” with Butterscotch and Caramel…. it was a dream. We had leftovers for 3 days because this thing was so gigantic. (and I’m not complaining!) Not to mention on weekends the Griddle has 2 for 1 Mimosas and bloody mary’s!! 🍹🍹🍹 WOOT WOOT! By the time I got my pancake I was almost done with my Mimosas… the Lord provideth!

After stuffing ourselves we left the cafe and headed straight home for our much needed Easter-Sunday- After Brunch -Afternoon Nap. Then we took cousin Marina on a tour of the town via Mulholland Blvd and went to the Melrose Trading Post for some amazing Flea Market finds! Β How cute are these amazing signs made by Sea Gypsy her signs are handmade and so adorable!!!

It was my second Easter away from my family, but I still got an Easter Bunny basket from my parents that was stuffed in my suitcase from my visit home the weekend before. It was nice to have our own little Easter Celebration while sharing the meaning behind the easter bunny and the cute fluffy lambs, He has Risen!
